Do's and Don'ts of Drain Plugs / Petcock Valves

Last Updated: Oct 13, 2014 03:11PM EDT
Drain plugs come factory sealed on replacement radiators.  They now often aren't even on many replacements.

This is due to the soft thread used for drains.  Customers will often drain from these areas and strip the threads.  The result is a broken unit that is not covered under factory warranty.

We suggest you NEVER touch a factory sealed drain / petcock valve.  Use the bottom hose connection for draining/flushing.

If there is no drain plug, we may have removed it completely due to high rates of denied warranty claims.
