Difference between Push and Pull Fans

Last Updated: Mar 17, 2015 05:47PM EDT
An electric fan is very useful for vehicles that will be idling as it assists with bringing the fresh air into the engine

Push or (Pusher) Fans mount on the front or (grill) side of the radiator.  They push fresh air that enters from the grill through the radiator.

Pull or (Puller) Fans mount on the back (engine) side of the radiator.  They pull fresh air that enters from the grill through the radiator.

When space allocates, a puller fan is the desired method of installation.

Note, our stock economy fans come setup to push, but can be changed to pull by reversing the S-blade and polarity of wiring.
